Understanding Shimano’s new 12-speed GRX gravel groupsets -
Shimano is continue the format of GRX being more of a family of parts as opposed to 3 levels like their road groups -
Shimano is billing 3 options:
Also, there is two levels offered RX820 and RX620 (some parts are shared) and all GRX 12 groups share rotors and chains with XT/Ultegra and SLX/105, there is a new GRX880 carbon wheelset ($1549) that has the Microspline freehub
Also, unique here is there is a specific rear derailleur for each cassette options - with
- RX822-GS (short) matching with the 10-45T
- RX822-SGS (long) matching with the 10-51T
- 2x there is a RX820 for the 11-36T
We will be offering all options in 4-group listings with menu variants, this should cover everything offered by Shimano USA
